Magnetic brake upgrade

Magnetic brake upgrade
Description
The patented magnetic brake automatically aligns the printed product in the third fold. This achieves absolute folding precision at speeds of up to 70,000 copies per hour. The magnetic folding brake not only reduces waste but also the consumption of wearing parts. Unlike the brake brush, the magnetic brake uses sensors to detect each printed copy arriving on the folding table and automatically regulates the position and braking force of each individual printed product. This prevents dog-ears and creases. During maintenance, the operator no longer needs to change the brake shoes daily; their service life is extended to up to two weeks. Introduced in 2004, manroland web systems has been supplying all folding units in commercial printing presses with magnetic brakes ever since. Software and hardware upgrades bring the unit up to the latest state of the art. Magnetic brakes can generally be retrofitted to folding units built after 1997; they are examined on a case-by-case basis.
